Gas Storage
Compact and modular low-pressure gas storage systems
This is a specialized device for biogas plants designed to maintain a stable system pressure of approximately 2.5 mbar in the gas storage and throughout the entire gas system.
The operating principle is based on supplying outside air into the space between the gas membrane and the outer shell of the storage. This creates constant system pressure and prevents the formation of an explosive atmosphere in case of possible gas leaks.
The ISO container serves as a secure housing for a flexible gas storage system with an integrated gas membrane. The container housing protects the inner membrane from external influences and allows for safe stacking/elevation on other containers.
Thanks to its modular design, the storage system can be easily expanded. This solution is ideal for biogas plants, gas storage facilities, and other industrial applications, combining safety, flexibility, and efficiency in a practical package.
The gas storage system features a modern measurement system with level sensors installed in the container roof. These sensors accurately and safely determine the fill level of the gas storage.
The collected data is processed in the control and regulation system (PLC) and is used for efficient management of gas consumers. This solution ensures highly efficient gas distribution and enhanced operational safety.
The FlexBio Low-Pressure Gas Storage is housed in a robust ISO container and features an integrated gas membrane with a storage capacity of up to 105 m³. An externally mounted support air blower builds up a constant overpressure of 2 to 2.5 mbar in the gas membrane — regulated via an overpressure valve. This pressure is transferred to the gas chamber and simultaneously ensures the system pressure of the biogas plant.
The biogas produced during the anaerobic process is efficiently stored in between and reliably protected by an integrated over- and underpressure safety system. This ensures that the system pressure always remains within the optimal range (maximum 5 mbar overpressure, minimum 1 mbar underpressure) — guaranteeing safe, stable, and flexible plant operation.
