In the Chinese metropolis of Tianjin, a FlexBio system was installed to treat leachate from municipal waste management. The key challenge was to purify highly contaminated wastewater in a space-saving and energy-efficient way.
By integrating a preceding anaerobic stage, the system achieves compact and highly effective pre-treatment. The wastewater is then further treated in an aeration stage and refined using a membrane bioreactor (MBR) to meet the highest quality standards. The recovered water is reused directly on site – for example, to clean waste treatment facilities and collection trucks.
This solution combines efficient wastewater purification with the principles of the circular economy, demonstrating how FlexBio technology delivers sustainable value even in urban environments.
