A traditional organic farm in Northern Germany combines ecological agriculture with artisan cheese production. The company is particularly renowned for its raw milk cheese of the highest organic quality, successfully marketed for many years through specialty retailers and farm shops. Sustainability is deeply embedded in the company’s philosophy – from closed-loop farming and animal welfare to resource-efficient production processes.
To further enhance this sustainable approach, a compact FlexBio anaerobic wastewater treatment system was commissioned. The module efficiently treats organically loaded wastewater and converts it into biogas. The generated energy is fed directly into the existing combined heat and power (CHP) unit of the farm’s own biogas plant. The treated water can then be used for irrigating agricultural land, conserving valuable water resources and further strengthening the farm’s circular economy.
