Located in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps, Schönram Brewery is a multi-award-winning family brewery renowned for its craft-brewed beers and exceptional brewing expertise. Combining traditional recipes with modern production methods, Schönram is recognized as one of Germany’s most respected craft breweries.
To make its wastewater management more sustainable and cost-efficient, a modular anaerobic wastewater treatment system was installed. This solution is complemented by gas purification, biogas storage, and the utilization of biogas in a dedicated gas boiler system. Working alongside the existing conventional treatment plant and direct discharge system, the anaerobic pre-treatment significantly reduces energy costs for aeration and sludge disposal expenses.
With this step, Schönram Brewery strengthens its sustainability strategy, lowers operating costs, and demonstrates a strong commitment to responsible resource management.
