Heinrich Kühlmann GmbH is a family-owned company with a long tradition, founded in 1912 and today one of Germany’s leading delicatessen producers. Kühlmann is particularly renowned as the second-largest supplier of delicatessen salads and market leader in the fresh antipasti segment. At its Delbrück-Westernholz site, the company combines decades of quality craftsmanship with modern production and a strong commitment to sustainability – from regional sourcing and resource-efficient processes to the use of 100% green electricity.
As production volumes grew, efficient wastewater management became increasingly important. To enhance its sustainability strategy and reduce operating costs, Kühlmann implemented a compact container-based FlexBio system. The plant treats organic wastewater, produces valuable biogas, and relieves the municipal treatment plant. In doing so, Kühlmann not only contributes to CO₂ reduction, but also improves economic efficiency and creates the capacity for further production growth.
