A leading manufacturer of organic juices and natural food products faced the challenge of excessive production wastewater that was overloading the municipal treatment plant. Under regulatory pressure, a sustainable solution had to be implemented quickly.
In the first expansion stage, three anaerobic wastewater treatment modules were installed, complemented by gas cleaning, gas storage, and biogas utilization in a combined heat and power (CHP) unit with an electrical output of 50 kWel. This setup significantly reduced the organic wastewater load while generating electricity and heat for on-site use.
The system is modular in design and already prepared for future expansion. An additional three modules are planned to further increase capacity and strengthen the company’s long-term sustainability strategy.
